BLACK & PINK...

Hello Happy People, hope the weather at your end is far more better than mine. It's hard to be motivated with this cold, windy and rainy weather up in here...Almost got blown away by the wind today. Here I thought I'm big and heavy but apparently not!! All the same we're grateful to God for His mercies and grace.

Today was a free day for me so had the opportunity to hit the cinema with a couple of good people. We watched Mr T. Cruise's "Jack Reacher" and personally I liked it. If you've watched a lot of Cruise's films then you know his typical style...action packed shooting, fast cars and running!! Couldn't take some pics cos I was a mess with all the wind/rain. Weather got me frustrated...hehe! But not to worry below are some party pics I took last month...Always keeping it simple! Have I told you guyz that makeup isn't one of my strength? Well there you have it..Missy for you :-)
With my gal Anita..

FIND FRIENDS WHO HEAR GOD...

Iron sharpens iron; so a man sharpens the countenance of his friend. —Proverbs 27:17
If we listen, God will speak to us about our relationships—our marriages, friendships, business associations, and even casual acquaintances. He may ask us to sever friendships or relationships with people who can tempt us to stray from His plan for our lives. We can easily become like those we spend time with. If we spend time with people who are selfish and self-centered, we may soon find ourselves often focused on ourselves, thinking about what we can do or get for ourselves. In contrast, God may encourage us to make friends with someone who is a giver. If we spend time with such a person, before long, we will be givers, too.
It is enjoyable and beneficial to spend time with someone who really hears from God, someone who truly senses what the Holy Spirit is saying and doing. It is not fun to spend time with people who are dull in their spiritual hearing, and we can tell when we are with someone like that. The verse for today says that “iron sharpens iron,” and we can sharpen our ability to hear the right things by being with people who practice listening for God’s voice and obeying Him.
God’s word for you today: We become the company we keep; make “iron” choices.

This is my tribal war look...haha!! I'm just crazy mixing prints but i think it worked innit. Y'all be the judge. I dress according to my mood so you gotta know I was in a happy mood to be wearing all this colours. This gal defo ain't a fashionista but she ain't sloppy either....hahahahaa!! Maybe I should have probably tack in the blouse. I'm not really keen on that cos of my bulging tummy which am trying to train.

CASUAL WORK FLOW...

Hope y'all had a good day than moi. I work as a Supervisor in a Primary School and these kids know no shame!! Children of today say whatever they want and do whatever they want. I remember my time as a child in Africa...OMdzzz you were disciplined well for even not greeting an elderly person. Back in the days I remember my dad would ask my brother and I this question "Have I done wrong if I slap you?" if we did something as simple as play in the mud!! What would have been your answer if your dad asked you that? Well brace yourselves cos whether you say yes or no, the slap gon come. As tough and strict as he was, I think it straightened us for the better. Now if a parent smack a child for disrespecting or being naughty, it is called Child Abuse!! Three weeks ago I read in the Newspaper how a single mother was ruled not guilty for smacking her kid...According to the Judge, being a parent isn't easy. "Disciplining children now and then won't kill em", she said. For some reason that story made my whole day. Maybe it's because I'm a single mum so I could put myself in that woman's shoes. Hmmm...just praying God give me the strength to raise my son well and overcome the frustrations and challenges of motherhood. Amen!!  Well after all the wahala (Nigerian dialect word for trouble) today at work, my senior Supervisor said it's my fault that the kids are disrespecting me cos I'm too soft. Attentively I listened to her with a smile. But she said "Wipe that grin off your face and stop being so friendly with them. You've to become tough and they will listen when you speak!!" For some weird reason that statement hit me so hard it messed up my happy mood the whole day. Ahh.. guess I would have to start going all black on dem kids from now on. hehe..

What do y'all think please?

My casual self for y'all. Simple as always. I'm still growing some balls (excuse my french..) and trying to lose some weight to rock some hot stuffs.

Outfit: Shirt: (Asos),  Pants/scarf/ wholly hat/shoes: (Primark),  Crop jeans: (old, Austria) & Hand beads: (New Look)

Have a nice evening y'all...God bless y'all!!

YOU'RE MY AFRICAN QUEEN...

The effort we make must be in Christ. So often we just try to do what is right without asking for God's help, and that type of fleshly effort never produces good fruit. The Bible calls this a "work of the flesh." It is man's effort trying to do God's job. What I am saying is, be sure you lean on God and ask for His help. When you succeed, give Him the credit, the honor, and the glory because success is impossible without Him. Jesus said, Apart from Me [cut off from vital union with Me] you can do nothing (John 15:5).

Yes I come from Africa. Ghana to be precise!!  I just love how they beginning to style these prints/textiles now..very modern and it got some Western feel to it. Lately Designers like Balenicaga all incorporate Africa ethnic mixes into their collections. Anywayz this is another church look. As you already know I'm a very simple gal... Maybe I don't have enough guts to rock all the hot stuffs...hehehe!!

I got the skirt years ago in Austria and my print top is custom made by a seamstress living in my area. Shoe is from DUNE, Belt is from PRIMARK, Earring is from DOROTHY PERKINS.

Till next time.. Thank you for visiting and God bless y'all!

THANK GOD IT'S MONDAY...

You probably want to slap me cos I said that innit? hahahaha... What I meant is thank God we're fortunate to see another week cos it's a blessing. A new day to make a difference, fulfill your purpose on the planet earth, wake up next to your loved one, accomplish your dreams, work toward that goal you want to score, overcome the fear of something in your life and last but not the least, draw near God!! Also another day to get over your anger Missy and call your mum!! hmmmm...

Well I wanna wish y'all a blessed week. May God keep y'all safe and guide your step. Here is a word from my motivator Joyce Meyer..

Putting the Past Behind You So New Hope Can Grow

Ephesians 4:22-23 is a very encouraging passage of scripture. It says, “Strip yourselves of your former nature.… And be constantly renewed in the spirit of your mind [having a fresh mental and spiritual attitude]” (AMP).
In other words, you can overcome any negative situation or pain from your past if you will just get with God and say, “Yes, this happened in my life. But You are on my side and I know You have a good plan for me.”
In fact, with God’s help, you can do anything within His will for you. For example, God wants you to be healthy. So if you need to lose weight and you decide to go on a diet, when the hunger pains start coming, no matter how much your flesh is screaming, you can set your mind to not give in. And you will see results! Well, that truth applies to every other area of your life.
I think a lot of us try to do things in our own strength without God. But in order to have the godly determination we need to get results, we need to come under the leadership of the Holy Spirit―and we need to have a vision.

You’ve Got to Have a Vision

The Israelites stayed in the wilderness forty years because they couldn’t see God’s vision for their life. They thought of everything in terms of their past. In fact, they complained to Moses that they wanted to go back to Egypt and return to a life of slavery because that’s what they knew. But God wanted them to get a new vision―a land flowing with milk and honey.
If you want to see change happen in your life, you’ve got to get a vision that goes beyond what you’ve already seen and experienced. And a good place to start is the promises in God’s Word. There are thousands of them, and you can claim each one of them for yourself.
We need to learn how to encourage ourselves in the Word. That’s what David did in Psalm 27:13-14. Even in the midst of his troubles he said, “I remain confident of this: I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord” (NIV).

Stop Staring at Your Past

Our hope should never be based on what we can see or what’s in our past. Our hope should be based on the Word of God and His promises for our life.
Isaiah 43:18-19 says, “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland” (NIV).
God is always doing something new. We need to use our gift of spiritual discernment to follow His plan and stop following our own thoughts and feelings. Glance at your circumstance and stare at Jesus. He’s the Author and Finisher of our faith.

Your Circumstances Cannot Keep You Down

Abraham had a choice to make in Genesis 13. You see, he and Lot had grown so wealthy that, between the two of them, they had too many cattle to feed on the land. So Abraham said to Lot, “Let’s split up. I’ll give you first pick of the land.” Well, Lot chose the best part of the Jordan valley for himself. Abraham could have gotten pretty angry about that, but he knew that if he kept a good attitude, God would bless him. Let’s see what happened.
Verses 14-15: “The Lord said to Abram after Lot had parted from him, ‘Look around from where you are, to the north and south, to the east and west. All the land that you see I will give to you and your offspring forever’” (NIV).
Talk about a vision!
Do you know what? God will give you anything you can see as long as it’s biblical. If you will just stop thinking about everything you’ve lost, everything you’re not, everything you’ve given up, the way you’ve been treated in the past, and set your mind on His vision for your future, God will bring you to your Promised Land. But first, you have to let go of what lies behind.

Thank y'all for passing by and feel free to follow me. I appreciate y'all!! God bless you..DANKE!

AFRICAN NUBIAN QUEEN...

Why is a man like a pepper? (West African Riddle). Anyone know the answer? :-) We used to play this game when I was a kid back home in Ghana. Basically one is asked a question which can be about art, nature, amenities, etc. and the listeners are to guess an answer to the question or the meaning. Riddles are used mainly for entertainment and stimulating thinking. So have y'all guessed the answer yet? Ait scroll down..

P.S: I don't know why I asked you that. It might has to do with the dress I'm wearing...hahaha!!
My dress code to a birthday church event. I bought the dress from a friend who had it made from Ghana and I got the shoe in London from a shop at Seven Sisters..(forgive me I forgot the name of the shop).
Necklace: H&M, Blazer, Clutch: PRIMARK, Earring: DOROTHY PERKINS

Answer to Riddle: Until you have tested him, you can't tell how strong he is.

Could you guess that? haha... Thanks for your time and God richly bless y'all...

DEAR GOD,

I am trying to be a better person, follow all Your decrees and worship You in truth & in spirit. But it is so hard. No matter how much I try, it ends up thumb down!! Sometimes the things I'm supposed to do, I can't do them. And what I'm not supposed to do, I do them.

The purpose of this letter is that, I have sinned against You by letting the sun shine on my anger. You know I'm not an angry person, but after what my mum did 25th Dec. 2012 I just can't bring myself to call her. I want to but I can't. Hope it makes sense dear Lord. She is my mum yes and I recognize that she's got problems which needs solving. What am I to do if she doesn't accept help from anyone? I can't take it anymore...

I need You God. My mum needs You God. Now I know that we're sinners and nothing we have done can pay for what You've done for us!! Your word says that through Your Son Jesus Christ we have been reconciled with You. Please have mercy upon us. May I find favor in Your eyes when You read this letter and give me a spirit of revelation in Jesus Name.....AMEN

CHURCH WAY...

[As for me] I am poor and needy, yet the Lord takes thought and plans for me. You are my Help and my Deliverer. O my God, do not tarry! Psalm 40:17
God has a plan for each of us, and the good things that happen to us are not just a coincidence. All good and perfect gifts come from God (see James 1:17). It is exciting to have a relationship with God when we are aware that He is carefully leading and guiding us to His blessings.
If you don’t understand something the first time God speaks to you, He will give you another chance and will continue to teach you until you know clearly the way you should go. Jesus came to seek and to save those who are lost (see Luke 19:10). This means that He will find you if you go astray.

CHURCH VIBE...

For in the Gospel a righteousness which God ascribes is revealed, both springing from faith and leading to faith [disclosed through the way of faith that arouses to more faith]. As it is written, The man who through faith is just and upright shall live and shall live by faith. Romans 1:17

This verse reminds us that we need to learn how to live from faith to faith. It means we approach everything we face, every challenge we meet, every decision we make, and everything we do with faith.
My Sunday up-do for church...tried my hand on colour blocking.

HOLIDAY IN GERMANY...

Hiya Guyz...

Hope everybody is doing fine and all is well at your end!!

I had the opportunity to visit Germany cos two of my friends were getting married. It was my first trip there so you know I was over the moon. As happy as i was that two of my friends were getting hitched, I was looking forward to that country (do i sound mean?). The dress code was African attire on Saturday and on Sunday, the choice was ours. I didn't get to see much of the country cos we were so busy moving from one place to another, but nevertheless the ceremony was good. - met a lot of new people and had loads of fun. Well below are some pics for y'all...
My traditional attire for the traditional marriage ceremony
Wore this to another party after the traditional marriage ceremony. Just wanted to keep everything simple. - Top (River Island), Leggings (George) and Heels (Miss KJ).

DAILY DEVOTION...

Hi...hope y'all doing fine. God is good if you're reading this because it is by His mercy and grace that we could make it today.. Hope you agree!! Hope your day was ok.. As I already mentioned in my first post, this blog is about everything. So today I stopped by to send this sermon from Joyce Meyer to you. If you know her + her life history, then you know that there's hope in the future. It doesn't matter where you started, how life started, what happened to you, etc. etc. But when you believe in The Almighty God above, all things will end up for good just like He has said in the bible... What I have been through can't measure up to that of Mrs Meyer but I can defo relate to her.  As a gal who was branded a witch by my own mum for years, i know what pain is. If you come from African or know alil bit about such things going on in our continent, then you know it's a massive ordeal tearing our continent & people apart. Hmmm....won't bore y'all with my life history, please just read and hope God touches your heart.

Help Is Here....by Joyce Meyer

I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, and Standby), that He may remain with you forever. —John 14:16
Many people have received Jesus as Savior and Lord. They will go to heaven, but never draw on the full capacity of the Holy Spirit that is available to them or experience the true success God wants them to enjoy on Earth. Simply put, many will be on their way to heaven, but they won’t enjoy the trip.
We often look at those who have wealth, position, power and we consider them “successful.” But many people who are considered successful still lack peace, joy, contentment, and other true blessings. Such people have never learned to depend completely on the power of the Holy Spirit.
People who are self-sufficient often think depending on God is a sign of weakness. But the truth is that by drawing on the ability of the Holy Spirit, they can accomplish more in their lives than they ever could by working in their own strength.
God created us in such a way that although we do have strengths, we also have weaknesses and we need His help. We know He wants to help us because He sent a Divine Helper, the Holy Spirit, to live inside us.
We often struggle needlessly because we do not receive the help available to us. I encourage you to depend on Him, not on your own strength. Whatever you are facing, you don’t have to go through it alone.
God’s word for you today: Your worst day with God will be better than your best day without Him. The Holy Spirit is here to speak to you and help you in every way you need help today.

PEPLUM DRESS (PRINT BIRTHDAY)...

Took my gal out for her birthday. After 2 days of searching for something to wear, I landed on this peplum print dress I snatched at ASOS for a few pounds. Initially i wasn't happy with the purchase but the burfday gal convinced me to keep it as I look good she says. The material is too light and a bit loose at the armpit area..bummer!! Kept it anyway but paired it with this brown cord blazer of mine, a multi-coloured necklace from TOPSHOP, purse from PRIMARK, and this beautiful comfy shoe I got from NASTY GAL...

Well be the judge.... Thanks!!
With the b'day gal Anita & Juliet

Thanks and God bless you for taking the time to check this blog out. Till then, Stay Bless!

Anywayz today i feel like I have so much to talk about but no one to talk to and seeing that you can't trust anyone lately, I created this blog. I follow so many bloggers and i have spent the whole day checking em out. I think it's a great idea cos I get so much inspiration from this ladies am following.

Anywayz this blog of mine is just a diary...frustrations will be poured here, opinions about different topics will be shared here, single mother frustrations will be poured here, etc. etc. Please feel free to comment or advice or suggest as we are all in this world to help one another.
